Who this is, and how it pays for itself
You should know who is telling you things about a medical decision, and what they get out of it.
What we are
An independent publisher. We take the federal record on fertility clinic outcomes, present it properly, and write plainly about egg donation from both sides of it.
We are not a clinic, an agency, an egg bank or a broker. We do not run cycles, we do not recruit donors for anyone, and we do not hold a database of donors.
How we make money
The honest answer is: not much yet, and here is the plan, stated before it happens rather than after.
- Clinics and agencies will be able to claim their profile and, separately, pay for a clearly labelled listing. Paying will never change a CDC figure, a rank, or the order of a list.
- Where we introduce someone to a clinic or agency, we may be paid a fee. We will tell you who, before we do it, and we will ask first.
- No display advertising anywhere near the risks or compensation pages.
If those two ever come into conflict with the editorial rules below, the rules win. That is not altruism: a directory that can be bought is worth nothing to the people using it, and worth nothing as a business either.
Editorial rules
- Risks travel with compensation. Any page that names a compensation figure carries the medical risks on the same screen. California requires this in advertising; we apply it everywhere because splitting the disclosure by the reader’s location is both harder and worse.
- No compensation-led marketing. No “earn $10,000” headline, no countdown, no urgency. The clinical literature on this industry is substantially about coercive recruitment advertising, and we would rather not be in it.
- 21 is the floor. The professional minimum donor age, enforced in the form, not filtered quietly afterwards.
- We publish what the data supports and nothing more. Suppressed cells say “not reported”. Thirteen transfers is reported as thirteen transfers, never as a percentage.
Getting in touch
Corrections, complaints, clinics who think we have them wrong, and donors who think we have understated something: hello@donateegg.com. We read everything.
DonateEgg.com is part of a portfolio of independent data publications. Nothing on this site is medical, legal or financial advice.
